About Adam Mamawala

Adam Mamawala is a young, up-and-coming stand-up comedian based out of New Jersey. After winning the title of funniest college comedian at 2007's New Jersey Comedy Festival, Adam has quickly made a name for himself on college campuses and comedy clubs with his uncanny impersonations and well-written material. Having just graduated from college in May 2009, Adam is able to relate to any college crowd put in front of him. Adam's first NACA showcase was at the 2010 Mid-Atlantic Festival at East Stroudsburg University, and he will be showcasing at the 2010 NACA Mid Atlantic and Central Conferences this October.

Adam's comedic influences include Dave Chappelle, Mitch Hedburg, Louis CK, and Russell Peters.

Adam has performed stand-up for the past four years, and he has had the chance to appear at some of the top venues in the tri-state area, including Caroline's, Comix, and Broadway Comedy Club in New York City. Most recently, he performed at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay on the Las Vegas strip.

He has also performed at numerous colleges, including Boston University, Rutgers University, and Lafayette College. Adam's Youtube comedy channel was the 5th most subscribed to channel for the first week after the account had been created, receiving hundreds of comments and 5-star ratings. Adam released his first full-length comedy album "Parsi-ppany on a Wed-nes-day," this summer, which is currently available on iTunes.

"Adam was one of the first budding comedians of TCNJ, appealing to most of the students on campus. He used his experiences as a former chubby child and his Indian roots to make the crowd crack up. The winner of the NJ comedy festival in 2007, Adam uses his humor, wit and timing to connect with the college crowd."
- Katerina Gkionis [President of The College Union Board at The College of New Jersey]
